At the core of Hildebrandt Studio, founded in Los Angeles in 2007, is Oliver Hildebrandt, an interdisciplinary designer whose journey weaves through the vibrant landscapes of Hollywood, elevated retail installations, modernist architectural gems, and the dynamic world of design-art curation.

Beginning his career in Hollywood, Oliver built and decorated commercial and music video sets designed by Laura Fox. During his production days in the art department, Oliver worked with directors incl. Paul Hunter, Marc Klasfeld, David LaChapelle, Francis Lawrence and Joe Pytka; clients incl. Cadillac, Citibank, GE, Kodak, Nike and Sprite; and musical artists incl. Green Day, Janet Jackson, Jennifer Lopez, Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake.

Oliver's approach, rooted deeply in a visual arts discipline, quickly garnered attention, sending him into the world of experiential marketing and retail design. Collaborating with renowned brands such as Nike, Oliver infused spaces with his unique style, seamlessly blending artistry with functionality to create immersive brand experiences.

Venturing further into his “design work as an art practice to be workshopped”, Oliver's innate talent for spatial storytelling led him to the realm of interior design, where he transformed architecturally significant modernist homes into elegant showcases of art and design. Oliver’s ongoing project, A Curated Living Experience, his homage to the quintessential, California Modern indoor-outdoor living look, demonstrated his eye for detail and commitment to innovation.

In 2015, the Hildebrandt Studio design-art gallery opened in Los Angeles as an exclusive platform dedicated to showcasing iconic California Modern ceramics. In a testament to his commitment to the functional art object, Oliver procured and offered the largest, and most extensive selection of David Cressey ceramics, cementing his legacy as a notable dealer and curator.

Currently, Oliver is developing the Hildebrandt Studio Collection, an evolution of the studio’s history of collaboration with artists exploring design as an interrelated part of their art practice. This collection will continue to serve as a playground for creative discovery, an ongoing theme important to the Hildebrandt Studio process.
